Christian Youngmeyer Emphasizes Critical Thinking at Althoff Catholic High School

BELLEVILLE - Christian Youngmeyer is a deep thinker.

For his hard work, Christian Youngmeyer is a Student of the Month for Althoff Catholic High School.

Youngmeyer has competed on the Math Team and Scholar Bowl Team for most of his high school career. He loves pushing himself to come up with answers and new ideas.

He is also a member of Model UN, which requires a lot of diplomacy and analysis. Youngmeyer uses his experience with these clubs to build his critical thinking skills.

When he isn’t busy with these organizations, Youngmeyer also plays soccer for Althoff Catholic High School. It takes a lot of dedication and commitment to balance academics and athletics, but he does so gracefully. He was recently named an Illinois State Scholar, which puts him in the top of his class.

He also volunteers regularly with Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Belleville. In his limited free time, Youngmeyer enjoys hiking national parks and hanging out with his friends.

He plans to go into electrical/computer engineering after high school. That’s an intense field, but Youngmeyer is preparing now and knows he has what it takes to be successful. His loved ones and teachers can’t wait to see him take on this next chapter.
