Corrine Morris Shines at SWISA Championship in Edwardsville
The Montclaire Swim Club standout delivered a string of top finishes and key relay performances at the July 19 meet, helping fuel a strong team showing.
EDWARDSVILLE - Corrine Morris of the Montclaire Swim Club enjoyed an outstanding Southwestern Illinois Swimming Association Championship meet on July 19, 2026, at the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center in Edwardsville.

Morris placed third in the girls 15-18 100-yard freestyle, came in second in the 200-yard medley relay, finished second in the 50-yard freestyle, also finished second in the 50-yard backstroke, and swam lead-off in the girls 13-18 200-yard freestyle relay. The Marlins won the overall championship, and the girls team came in second to Collinsville Swim Club.
In an interview conducted during the meet, Morris felt that she and her teammates were strong throughout the meet. She was very happy with her efforts and those of her team.
Going into the summer season, she had many goals she tried to achieve and did well in her efforts.
"I really want to be able to get some times," Morris said, "get a couple of first places, and so far, I'm achieving those goals."
In looking back at the entire SWISA season, Morris felt she did well and swam to her capabilities all season long.
"I think this has been one of my best summer seasons so far," she said.
She agreed that the summer season is mainly for fun and was eager to help the Marlins win the championship.
Morris enjoys swimming a lot and will continue in the winter season, swimming for the Metro-East Titans club at the Edwardsville YMCA.
"Yes, I swim during the winter, too," Morris said. "I swim all year round, and I am really excited for the winter season."
Morris also plans to swim in college and hopes to receive a scholarship.
"I really hope I can swim in college," Morris said, "and if I can swim (NCAA Division-II), that would be amazing, but Division-III would be amazing, too."
