Altonized Community FCU Marks 87 Years with an Open House, Petting Zoo, Foam Party and More
Brighton open house invites members and nonmembers for family fun Aug. 1, 2026.
BRIGHTON - Community members can stop by Altonized Community Federal Credit Union in Brighton for a fun open house complete with a foam party, a petting zoo, free treats and more.

From 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, Altonized Community FCU hopes to welcome both members and nonmembers to the event at 200 North Main Street in Brighton. Attendees can learn more about the credit union and their mission to serve the community while enjoying a variety of fun activities.
“We believe in, essentially, the basic credit union belief of people helping people,” said Jennifer Spangler with Altonized Community FCU. “People that are members are more than just a number. We’re going to look at the whole picture and see what we can do to help them in everything, as far as savings and as far as borrowing money, and going from there.”
Spangler noted that the Aug. 1 open house is a way to celebrate the business’s 87th anniversary in the community while showcasing the Brighton branch. She believes the event will be a fun experience for everyone who comes by.
From 8:30–10:30 a.m., Powers’ Highland Haven will be onsite with their Highland cows. Attendees can pet and visit with the cows, and there will be free donuts available.
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Kona Ice will offer free snow cones, and the credit union will supply pizza. A foam party kicks off at 11 a.m. Throughout the event, you can spin the wheel to win a prize, and there will be a few raffles available with bigger prizes.
While the Aug. 1 open house promises to be a lot of fun, Spangler and her team are mostly looking forward to meeting the community. She noted that most of the tellers recognize their members by name when they walk in the lobby, and they’re eager to get to know these people better and meet nonmembers who might want to learn more about the credit union’s work.
“You’re not just a number,” Spangler said. “You’re a person.”
The team hopes the event has the same “hometown kind of feel” as their branches do. Spangler emphasized that Altonized Community FCU doesn’t charge monthly fees for accounts, and it’s important to them to know their members as people. This mindset encouraged them to host the event, and they are looking forward to engaging with the community while having a great time.
“We always use the tagline, ‘It’s where you belong,’” Spangler added. “We just want them to come, give us a chance if you’re not a member, and see what we can do for you. And to our members, we want to thank them for all their loyal years of service and continue that good old bond.”
