Edwardsville Police Charge Man With DUI, Property Damage, More
Charges filed after DUI suspect allegedly damages mailboxes while attempting to elude Edwardsville officer.
EDWARDSVILLE – A man from Dupo faces felony and misdemeanor charges in Madison County after allegedly damaging mailboxes and fleeing police while driving under the influence.
Aron M. Rodgers, 38, of Dupo, Ill., faces one count each of the following offenses in a Madison County case from July 17, 2026:

Aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer (Class 4 felony)
Driving while under the influence (Class A misdemeanor)
Criminal damage to property (Class A misdemeanor)

Speeding 26-34mph over (Class B misdemeanor)
Improper lane usage (petty offense)
Rodgers allegedly knowingly attempted to flee from an Edwardsville Police officer who had signaled for him to stop the vehicle he was driving on June 6, 2026. His attempted flight from the officer reportedly exceeded 21 mph above the area’s legal speed limit.
On the same date, Rodgers is also accused of driving a 2007 Nissan Titan on Illinois Route 157 in Edwardsville while under the influence of alcohol and causing damage to two mailboxes and mounting posts located on Pinehollow Court.
The Edwardsville Police Department presented the case against Rodgers, who was ordered released from custody pending trial.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
