According to police, Janyla’s mother said the child was in bed at 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police said when the mother woke up shortly after 7:50 a.m., the child was gone, and the front door was left open. Police said Janyla is capable of opening the front door and has done so before.

Anyone who locates her is asked to call 911 immediately or the St. Louis Metropolitan Police at (314) 231-1212.

At a press conference at the intersection of Chippewa Street and Minnesota Avenue in St. Louis around the lunch hour, close to where the child lived, officials said there has been no discovery of the child yet.
