Marquette Catholic Boys Take Second As Highland Sweeps Golf Regional

ALTON - Marquette Catholic High School placed second in the IHSA Boys Regional at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026. Highland High School swept the team and individual titles at the IHSA boys golf regional, leading three teams and 10 individual qualifiers advancing to sectional competition.

Rochester High School placed third to claim the remaining team qualifying spot. Highland’s Eli Lucas won the individual regional championship with a score of 70.

The qualifying teams and individuals will compete in the IHSA sectionals Monday, Oct. 5, at Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy.

Jersey’s Adam Robinson and Father McGivney’s Brayden Kerns tied for second individually, each shooting 75 to advance to the sectional. Highland’s Parker Logsdon finished fourth with a 76, and Jersey’s Michael Roberts placed fifth with a 77 to advance.

Father McGivney finished fourth in the team standings, followed by Jersey in fifth, Civic Memorial in sixth and Taylorville in seventh. East Alton-Wood River had one regional qualifier.

Robinson, Kerns and Roberts were among the 10 individual sectional qualifiers. Also advancing were Father McGivney’s Jack Stirnaman and Michah David; Civic Memorial’s Garrett Wooten, Logan Roberson and Paolo Scheffel; and Taylorville’s Brock Brown and Drew Morgan.

The sectional will be held at 5215 Clubhouse Drive in Quincy. Quincy Notre Dame athletic director Bill Connell will serve as manager.
