While the practice celebrates its 18th anniversary, she says one principle has remained constant: aesthetic care should be approached as medical care, with an emphasis on patient safety, individualized treatment and realistic outcomes.

“The industry has changed tremendously since I opened Ooh La La, and patients today have access to more treatments and information than ever before,” Dr. Jacobs said. “That can be a great thing, but it also makes education incredibly important. My goal has always been to help patients understand their options and make decisions based on what is appropriate for them, not simply what happens to be trending.”

As her business has grown, Dr. Jacobs has also made community involvement a priority. Throughout her career, she has supported numerous local organizations and causes, finding ways to invest in the community that has helped Ooh La La grow. Today, she serves on the board of the Edwardsville CEO program, which supports local students as they learn about entrepreneurship and business leadership.

“Being a part of this community for 18 years has given me so much, and giving back is one of the ways I can show my appreciation,” Dr. Jacobs said. “Whether it’s mentoring young people, supporting local organizations or simply being there for the people who live and work here, I believe businesses have an opportunity and a responsibility to invest in their communities.”

Looking ahead, Dr. Jacobs is focused on continuing to provide the personalized, physician-led care that has defined the practice since its beginning. While the aesthetics and wellness industry continues to expand throughout the region, she encourages her patients to consider the training, experience and medical expertise behind the person providing their care.

“I’m so proud of how much we’ve grown and evolved over the years, but most importantly, I’m proud of the relationships we’ve built with our patients and the community,” said Dr. Jacobs. “It’s incredibly rewarding to look back at what we’ve accomplished while being just as excited about what’s ahead. I’m grateful for the continued support of Glen Carbon and Edwardsville, and I look forward to serving our patients and giving back to our community for many years to come.”
