Video from the scene, according to the person who shared it, shows lines stretching around the building. The footage has not been independently reviewed, and an attendance estimate was not available.

The gathering highlights opposition among those protesting but does not establish how Alton residents as a whole view the proposal.

The open house offers residents an opportunity to learn about the project, ask questions and consider its potential benefits and drawbacks. It was not immediately clear how many people waiting outside were able to enter or whether the lines affected access to the event.

Additional reporting will follow as reporters have an opportunity to interview residents both for and against the proposal and learn more from TerraWatt about the proposed development.
