Andreas Looks Ahead After Projected Clerk Race Victory
Madison County’s Republican clerk and recorder is projected to defeat Democrat Rachelle Nicole Bauerle, with office operations emerging as a focus of her response.
EDWARDSVILLE - Madison County Clerk and Recorder Linda Andreas is projected to win the race for the office, receiving 52.5% of the vote against Democrat Rachelle Nicole Bauerle.
Andreas, a Republican, received 50,180 votes, while Bauerle received 45,425 votes, or 47.5%. The race had one seat available.

In a statement, Andreas expressed gratitude and described challenges in the office, including staff turnover, retirements and new software in several areas, including voter registration, but still she persevered and the voters once again gave her their support to win.
She said she wants to refine the office’s operations to help ensure a smooth transition for the next person in the role.
