ALTON – An Alton man and Jerseyville woman face felony charges in two recently unsealed cases of armed robbery and aggravated battery.

Holman and Haun face one count each of armed robbery (both Class X felonies) and aggravated battery (both Class 3 felonies). Holman also faces a Class 2 felony count of felon in possession of a weapon.
The charges against Holman and Haun were initially sealed to avoid the risk of their flight from prosecution if their names had been made public prior to their arrest.
Holman allegedly stole U.S. currency from another person by use of force while armed with a firearm and committed an act of battery against the same victim on Oct. 20, 2026. His possession of the weapon was unlawful as he was convicted in 2025 of burglary in Madison County.
Haun is also accused of taking property from the same victim, while she “or one for whose conduct she is legally responsible” committed aggravated battery against the same victim while armed with a firearm on the same date.
Petitions to keep both suspects in custody pending trial were filed by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. Both petitions state Holman and Haun “set up the victim for a robbery and then they used a firearm to attack the victim and take his money.”
The state’s petition to keep Holman in custody pending trial was granted, and he currently remains in custody at the Madison County Jail. The petition to keep Haun detained was denied, and she was ordered to be released from custody pending trial.
Both cases were presented to prosecutors by the Alton Police Department.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
