Holman allegedly knowingly discharged a firearm towards another person while in close proximity to a crowd of people in the 700 block of Oakwood Estates on Oct. 31, 2026.
Holman’s possession of the weapon, a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, was unlawful as he had previously been convicted in 2019 of unlawful possession of weapons by a felon and in 2016 of delivery of a controlled substance, both in Madison County.
A petition to deny Holman’s pretrial release from custody was filed by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. According to the petition, Holman was “involved in an armed altercation at Oakwood Estates” in which he brandished a firearm “in a threatening manner” towards a group of people before lowering the weapon and firing it once towards the crowd.
“Defendant has multiple felony convictions,” the petition states. “The altercation was captured on video surveillance and defendant was identified by witnesses as the armed subject.”
The Alton Police Department presented the latest case against Holman, who currently remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
