Altonized Community Federal Credit Union: Kallal’s Consistent Improvement Boosts Southwestern's Cross Country Season

PIASA — Southwestern High School freshman Chase Kallal concluded a notable cross country season by competing at the Class 1A state championships in Peoria.

Kallal finished 140th at the state meet with a time of 16 minutes, 22 seconds.

Before the state competition, he posted a personal record of 16:14.7 for three miles at the Trenton-Wesclin Sectional. He earned his spot at the sectional by finishing 10th at the Trenton-Wesclin Regional with a time of 16:37.3.

Chase is an Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Male Athlete Of The Month.

Earlier in the season, Kallal secured seventh place at the South Central Conference Meet on Oct. 18, 2025, running a time of 17:42.2 and earning all-conference honors.

As a freshman, Kallal’s achievements this season suggest promising potential in both cross country and track and field in the coming years.
