JERSEYVILLE - Meredith Gray of Jersey Community Unit School District No. 100 has become the all-time leading rebounder for the JCHS girls basketball team, surpassing the previous record of 865 rebounds held by Shelby Woelfel Sackmann.

The Jersey basketball sensation has averaged nearly 20 points and close to 10 rebounds per game for the Panthers. In addition to her basketball success, Gray also excelled in girls' volleyball this season, recording 170 kills and earning first-team all-conference honors as a middle hitter in 2025.
In recognition of her latest accomplishment, Gray has been named the Sparklight Female Athlete of the Month.
Jersey Community Unit School District No. 100 expressed pride in her achievements and congratulated her on reaching this significant milestone.
"What an incredible achievement — congratulations, Meredith!" the school district said in a statement. "Jersey is proud of you!"
Gray had a tremendous game on Friday night at Triad, scoring a game-high 29 points.
