Mississippi Earthtones Festival

The Mississippi Earthtones Festival, co-organized by Alton Main Street and the Sierra Club, is a celebration of our rivers through art, music, and conservation. The 9thAnnual event on September 19thtook place on Broadway, where the street was closed to traffic between Alton Street (Mineral Springs Mall) and Langdon Street (Pedestrian Bridge).

"It is events like these that I look forward to shooting. To me there is nothing more exciting than watching people. Photography is an art of observation. When you are out shooting and you felt that you got a “keeper” it is easy to run home, post-process the image, and upload it to the internet for the rest of the world to see. However there is a quote by Garry Winogrand helped me realized that it is very important to slow down this process, and to not let your emotions dictate whether the photo was good or not."
