The Rooftop Garden and Learning Center at the Riverbender.com Community Center has been a dream of Executive Director, John Hentrich, for several years.  "There are always a lot of projects going on here at Riverbender, so finding time to get this particular vision off the ground has taken a while."

John sees this project as the next major expansion of the existing community center.  "We have served thousands of kids over the years and we have made great use of our space, but this new opportunity changes everything.  This really gives us a chance to show our kids that the SKY IS THE LIMIT"

The Rooftop will include programs for gardening, solar and wind exploration, history, art, astronomy, fitness, and more.  It will also be a space that can be rented for private parties and all monies raised will go back into the community center for a sustainable future.

Donors to the project so far include Home Depot, Federal Steel, Hamilton Engineering, Waggoner Equipment Rental, Andy Borman and the Borman Brothers Bash & Benefit, Cora and Dave Miller, and John and Jane Simmons.  If you are interested in contributing in any way to the success of this project pleaes contact John Hentrich via email at john@riverbender.com      or by calling 618-465-9850 x226
